Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (45g) Rolled Oats (Old Fashioned)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Milk (Dairy or Non-Dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Chia Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.2g) Ground Cinnamon
  • A small pinch of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon (or to taste) Maple syrup or honey (Sweetener)
  • 1/2 medium Sliced Banana (For Topping)
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Extra Peanut Butter Drizzle (For Topping)
  • 1 tablespoon (10g) Chopped Nuts (For Topping)

Instructions:

  1. Combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of milk in a small saucepan. Place over medium-high heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
  2. Stir in the rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), cinnamon, and the pinch of salt into the simmering liquid.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring frequently (every 30–60 seconds), for about 5–7 minutes until the oats have absorbed most of the liquid and the mixture is creamy.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat. Immediately stir in the 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and the primary sweetener (maple syrup or honey) until the peanut butter is fully emulsified and the oats are glossy and thick.
  5. Check consistency. If the oatmeal is too thick, stir in a tablespoon of hot water or milk until your preferred texture is achieved.
  6. Pour the finished oatmeal into your serving bowl.
  7. Garnish immediately with the sliced banana, an extra drizzle of peanut butter, and a sprinkle of chopped nuts. Serve piping hot.
