Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup sliced almonds

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, toss sliced peaches with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the peaches evenly across the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit layer. Do not press down; keep the mix loose to allow air circulation.
  4. Place thin butter squares in a grid pattern across the top of the dry mix and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes until the topping reaches a deep mahogany color and the peach juices are bubbling.
