Ingredients:
- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (281 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5 g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3 g) salt
- 1 cup (175 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (90 g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
