  • 3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (281 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5 g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3 g) salt
  • 1 cup (175 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
  8. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.

  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
