Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) instant ramen noodles
  • 4 cups (1 liter) chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (5 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (5 g)
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger (2 g)
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional; 2 g)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 soft-boiled egg
  • Nori (seaweed) sheets

Instructions:

  1. Bring 4 cups of the broth to a boil in a pot.
  2. Add the ramen noodles, cooking according to package directions until tender (usually 3-4 minutes).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, chili flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
  4. Once the noodles are cooked, drain if necessary and return to pot.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil, then add the seasoning mix gradually, stirring well to combine.
  6. Ladle the ramen into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions, soft-boiled egg, and nori, if desired.
