Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp Coarse Sea Salt or Kosher Salt (Optional, for rim)
- 2 fl oz High-Quality Tequila (100% Agave Blanco/Silver)
- 5 fl oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 25 fl oz Pure Agave Nectar (or to taste)
- 5 fl oz Cold Water (Optional, for dilution)
- Ice (Handful for shaker + more for glass)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Salt Rim (Optional): Pour the sea salt or preferred seasoning (like Tajín) onto a small plate. Moisten the outside edge of the serving glass rim with a lime wedge. Gently dip the moistened rim into the salt, rotating to achieve an even, thin coating. Fill the glass with fresh ice.
- Measure and Combine: Using a jigger, measure the tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, and agave nectar directly into the cocktail shaker tin.
- Add Ice: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with high-quality ice (preferably large, dense cubes).
- Close and Shake: Secure the lid tightly. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker tin is thoroughly frosted and painfully cold to the touch. This rapid chill and controlled dilution are essential.
- Strain and Serve: Remove the shaker lid and strain the mixture directly into the prepared serving glass over the fresh ice.
- Garnish with a fresh lime wheel or wedge. Serve immediately.
