Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, honey/maple syrup, minced garlic, oregano, pepper, and salt.
  2. Place your chosen meat (chicken, beef, or pork) in a re-sealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it’s well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
  4. Refrigerate the marinating meat for at least 30 minutes (or longer for best results).
  5. Preheat your grill, oven, or stovetop pan. Cook the marinated meat until it reaches the appropriate doneness.
  6. Let the meat rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
