Ingredients:
- 15.25 oz box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 0.5 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 0.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- 0.5 cup peanut butter chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan thoroughly.
- In a large bowl, combine the 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix, 1 cup water, 0.5 cup oil, and 3 eggs. Whisk 2 minutes until the batter is smooth and glossy.
- Gently stir in the 0.5 cup semi sweet chocolate chips and 0.5 cup peanut butter chips.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan. Spread it evenly using a spatula.
- In a separate bowl, beat the 8 oz softened cream cheese, 0.5 cup melted butter, 0.5 cup peanut butter, and 1 tsp vanilla extract until velvety and pale.
- Gradually add the 3 cups of powdered sugar. Mix on low speed until no white streaks remain.
- Drop large spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the raw cake batter.
- Sprinkle the 1 cup of chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups over the top.
- Place in the center of the oven. Bake for 40 minutes until the edges have pulled away from the pan.
- Remove from the oven and let sit on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes. Wait until the center has slumped and set before serving.
