Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper (red or green), diced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) chicken broth (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and pat dry the shrimp.
  2. Toss shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add chopped onion and bell pepper; sauté until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Stir in the minced garlic; cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Push the vegetables to the side and add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet.
  7. Sauté shrimp until opaque and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth; stir to combine.
  9. Add Worcestershire sauce and the remaining Cajun seasoning.
  10. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened.
  11. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over rice or pasta, if desired.
