Ingredients:
- 1 large green cabbage (about 2-3 pounds or 900-1350g)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5g)
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (2g)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (15g)
- ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped (15g)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (30ml)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, 1g)
Instructions:
- Remove any tough outer leaves from the cabbage and cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices (steaks).
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush the mixture onto both sides of each cabbage steak.
- In another bowl, combine chopped parsley, basil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined and set aside.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the cabbage steaks on the grill; cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until charred and tender. Use a basting brush to apply the herb oil before flipping.
- Remove the cabbage steaks from the grill and drizzle with remaining herb oil before serving.
