Ingredients:

  • 4 turkey tails (approximately 1.5 to 2 pounds / 680 to 900 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (5 g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (3 g)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (3 g)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (5 g)
  • 1 cup chicken broth (240 ml)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (30 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (15 g)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, soy sauce, and honey.
  2. Add turkey tails to the bowl, ensuring they are coated completely. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove turkey tails from the marinade, reserving the liquid. Place tails in the pot and brown on all sides (4-5 minutes).
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and thyme over the browned tails.
  6. Pour chicken broth and reserved marinade into the pot, covering the tails.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until tails are tender.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
