Ingredients:
- 4 turkey tails (approximately 1.5 to 2 pounds / 680 to 900 grams)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 g)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (5 g)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (5 g)
- ½ teaspoon salt (3 g)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (3 g)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (5 g)
- 1 cup chicken broth (240 ml)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (30 ml)
- 1 tablespoon honey (15 g)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, soy sauce, and honey.
- Add turkey tails to the bowl, ensuring they are coated completely. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Remove turkey tails from the marinade, reserving the liquid. Place tails in the pot and brown on all sides (4-5 minutes).
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and thyme over the browned tails.
- Pour chicken broth and reserved marinade into the pot, covering the tails.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until tails are tender.
- Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
