- 1/4 cup (60ml) pure maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 cup (60ml) coconut milk or other dairy-free alternative
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract (for Mint Chocolate variation)
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for Spicy Chocolate variation)
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste, for Spicy Chocolate variation)
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder (for Coffee Chocolate variation)
- Dark chocolate shavings (for garnish)
- Zest of 1 orange (for Orange Chocolate variation)
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice (for Orange Chocolate variation)
- 2 tablespoons almond butter or peanut butter (for Nutty Chocolate variation)
- Chopped nuts (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Cut avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor.
- Add cocoa powder, sweetener, coconut milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
- Process until the mixture is creamy and well-combined, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Incorporate the respective flavor elements for each variation and blend again until incorporated.
- Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or flavorings as desired.
- Transfer the mousse into individual serving dishes and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Garnish as indicated for each variation and serve chilled.
