- 4 oz (120 ml) ginger beer
- 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup (optional)

Instructions:
- Gather all the ingredients and equipment. Measure out the dark rum, ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the dark rum, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using). Fill the shaker with ice, covering the liquid.
- Secure the lid on the shaker. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice. Top with ginger beer and stir gently to combine.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint.
