Ingredients:
- 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds (about 12 slices)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
- Salt to taste
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (60 g)
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (15 ml)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can (3.75 oz) smoked oysters, drained (106 g)
- Fresh dill sprigs for garnish
- Optional: Lemon wedges
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place baguette slices on the baking sheet and brush each slice lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
- Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, combine softened butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Mix thoroughly with a fork or whisk; season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread a generous layer of lemon-dill butter on each toasted baguette slice and top with smoked oysters.
- Finish with a sprig of fresh dill and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
