Ingredients:

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds (about 12 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (60 g)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (3.75 oz) smoked oysters, drained (106 g)
  • Fresh dill sprigs for garnish
  • Optional: Lemon wedges

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place baguette slices on the baking sheet and brush each slice lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Mix thoroughly with a fork or whisk; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Spread a generous layer of lemon-dill butter on each toasted baguette slice and top with smoked oysters.
  6. Finish with a sprig of fresh dill and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
