Ingredients:
- 1 (9-inch) pie shell
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups peeled, cored, and sliced pears
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).
- Place the pie shell into the pie plate and press firmly against the sides.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour evenly across the bottom of the crust to create a moisture barrier.
- In a large bowl, combine sour cream, white sugar, 1/3 cup flour, almond extract, and vanilla extract.
- Beat the mixture with a hand mixer on medium speed until completely smooth.
- Pour the sour cream mixture into the prepared pie shell and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Arrange the pear slices in a decorative concentric circle or rustic heap on top of the sour cream layer.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt; drizzle evenly over the pears.
- Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F (218°C) for 15 minutes to set the crust.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 45–50 minutes until set.
