Ingredients:
- 6 medium peaches, peeled and sliced (approximately 800g / 28 oz)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (30 ml)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (15g)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (2g)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
- 1 cup rolled oats (90g)
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar (100g)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (2g)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1g)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes (113g)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional) (30g)
Instructions:
- Peel and slice the peaches. Toss them in a large bowl with lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nuts (if using).
- Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Ensure the butter remains cold for best results.
- Pour the peach mixture into the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the peaches.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to thicken slightly.
