Ingredients:
- 8 ounces (225g) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 3-4 cups (360-480g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2-4 tablespoons (30-60ml) milk
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
- Gradually add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the icing reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Don't overmix!
- Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness. Taste and adjust sweetness or consistency as needed.
- Immediately spread the icing generously over warm cinnamon buns.
- Watch it melt slightly and dive in!
