Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Soy Sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Pineapple Juice (fresh or unsweetened canned)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) Brown Sugar (packed)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) Vegetable Oil (or other neutral oil)
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced (approx. 2 teaspoons)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Fresh Ginger, grated (approx. 1 thumb-sized piece)
- 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional, for a little kick)
- 1 green onion, sliced.
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place the beef in a resealable plastic bag or airtight container. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring it's fully submerged.
- Seal the bag/container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours. The longer it marinates, the more tender it will become. Don't marinate for longer than 4 hours, or the beef can become mushy.
- Remove the beef from the marinade (discard the marinade – don't reuse it!), pat it dry with paper towels (for better searing!), and cook according to your preferred method (grilling, pan-frying, roasting).
