Ingredients:
- 2 slices sourdough bread (about ½ inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons sweet pickle
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 3 oz mature cheddar cheese, sliced
- ¼ medium apple, thinly sliced
- A small handful of watercress
- Optional: 1 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions:
- Optionally toast the sourdough slices. If using, spread softened butter on one side of each slice.
- Spread Dijon mustard evenly on one slice of bread.
- Spread sweet pickle generously over the other slice of bread.
- Layer the cheddar cheese slices on top of the mustard-covered slice.
- Arrange the apple slices neatly on top of the cheese.
- Add a layer of watercress on top of the apple slices.
- Carefully place the pickle-covered slice of bread on top of the watercress, pickle-side down.
- Using a sharp knife, slice the sandwich in half. Serve immediately.
