Ingredients:

  • 2 (5-ounce) cans tuna in water, drained well
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of your favourite bread
  • Optional: Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, or cucumber slices

Instructions:

  1. Drain the tuna really well. Flake it in the mixing bowl with a fork.
  2. Add the chopped celery and red onion to the bowl.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, dill, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the dressing over the tuna and veggies. Gently mix until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Have a taste! Adjust the seasoning (salt, pepper, lemon juice, or mustard) to your liking.
  6. Spread the tuna salad evenly on two slices of bread. Top with optional lettuce, tomato, or cucumber. Add the remaining slices of bread.
