Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried mustard powder
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (60 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch Seasoning (from above)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Pinch of garlic powder
  • Pinch of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch Seasoning (from above)
  • 4 burger buns, brioche or your favourite
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favourite cheese)
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced tomato
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • Optional: Crispy fried onion rings (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ranch seasoning ingredients in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, ranch seasoning, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Gently combine the ground beef with 1 tablespoon of the ranch seasoning in a large mixing bowl. Form into 4 equal-sized patties. Try not to overwork the meat.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat (or preheat your grill). Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and let it melt.
  5. Spread a generous amount of ranch sauce on both the top and bottom buns. Place a cheeseburger patty on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Top with crispy fried onion rings (if using) and the top bun.
  6. Serve immediately.
