Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground chuck (80/20 fat content)
- 1 lb ground beef (85/15 fat content)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns (sesame or brioche)
- Lettuce leaves
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Sliced pickles (optional)
- 2 large potatoes (for fries)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut potatoes into even strips. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chuck, ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Gently form into patties, making a slight indentation in the centre.
- Grill or heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip. Add cheese on top, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until desired doneness.
- Optional: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a pan during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Place lettuce on the bottom half of the bun, add the burger patty, then top with sliced tomato, pickles, and the bun lid.
- Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
