Instructions:
- Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturers instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the diced strawberries with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron, using the recommended amount for your machine. Cook until golden brown (approximately 3-5 minutes).
- Carefully remove the waffles and serve hot, topped with whipped cream, maple syrup, and additional strawberries if desired.
