Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (312.5g)

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (227g)
- 2 cups granulated sugar (400g)
- 4 large eggs (240g)
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract (15ml)
- 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (227g)
- 4 cups powdered sugar (500g)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (30ml)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
- Food coloring (black and green for decoration)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and line the cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 4-5 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- In a bowl, beat the softened butter, then gradually add powdered sugar and cream until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix.
- Level cooled cakes, then layer with buttercream between layers and on the outside. Use food coloring for soccer ball decoration.
- Slice and enjoy the soccer cake with friends and family.
