Ingredients:

  • 4 medium Bosc or Anjou pears
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with 1 tbsp of melted butter.
  3. Slice pears in half lengthwise and use a paring knife or melon baller to remove the core and seeds, creating a small well in the center of each half.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Place pears cut-side up in the baking dish.
  6. Distribute the sugar mixture evenly into the pear cavities and sprinkle the cubed butter over the top of each half.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Carefully flip the pears over and spoon the accumulated syrup from the bottom of the dish over the tops of the pears.
  9. Continue baking for another 20 minutes, or until the pears are mahogany-colored and a fork slides in with zero resistance.
