Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup water or brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the dry chocolate cake mix evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk and water (or coffee) over the powder without stirring.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the entire surface and use a fork to gently poke a few holes to help the butter sink in.
  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips across the top.
  6. Bake on the middle rack for 35 to 40 minutes, until edges are bubbling and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the cake rest for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the center to set.
