Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (120ml) extra virgin olive oil, good quality
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs, finely chopped (such as rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil)
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste, optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste

Instructions:

  1. Mince the garlic cloves finely.
  2. Finely chop the fresh herbs.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped herbs, balsamic vinegar, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour, to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, give the dip another stir. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley, if desired. Serve this olive oil bread dip with crusty bread for dipping.
