Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 tbsp (12g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp (6g) fine sea salt
- 4 to 8 tbsp (60-120ml) ice water
Instructions:
- Chill the all-purpose flour in the freezer for 10 minutes and ensure the cubed butter is frozen for at least 15 minutes to prevent melting during processing.
- Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor and pulse 3-5 times to mix.
- Add the frozen butter cubes. Pulse in short 1-second bursts until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with a few pea-sized chunks of butter remaining.
- Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl.
- Drizzle in ice water 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with a fork until the dough just begins to clump together.
- Shape the dough into a disk, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour to chill and hydrate.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to the desired thickness and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
