Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (500 g)
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast (7 g)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (25 g)
  • 1 tablespoon salt (15 g)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (360 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (30 g)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter to the water mixture.
  3. Gradually mix in salt and flour, 1 cup at a time, until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  10. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack before slicing.
