Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs (680g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- BBQ sauce
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
- Cheese slices
- Pickles
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix lightly to avoid overworking the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from bulging during cooking.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a frying pan, heat it over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
- Place the patties on the preheated grill or in the hot pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
- Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the burgers reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for safety.
- Toast the burger buns (optional). Spread BBQ sauce on the top and bottom buns. Place a cooked burger patty on the bottom bun. Add your desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles). Top with the other half of the bun.
- Enjoy your delicious BBQ burger!
