Frequently Asked Questions
Can I ask a question about a specific recipe?
Yes. Send us the recipe title or link along with your question. If you are asking about a problem, such as a cake that sank or a cookie that spread, tell us your pan size, oven type and any changes you made. That makes it much easier to point to the cause.
Can I substitute ingredients?
Often you can, but the result depends on the role the ingredient plays. Swapping one fruit for a similar one usually works well, while changing flour, sugar, fat or eggs can alter texture and baking time. Several of our authors, including Priya Desai, regularly share eggless options. Ask us if you are unsure and we will suggest what is most likely to work.
How accurate are the nutrition estimates?
Nutrition figures, where shown, are estimates based on standard ingredient values. Brands, portion sizes and substitutions change the numbers, so treat them as a guide rather than exact values. If you follow a medical diet, check the figures against your own products.
What about allergens and food safety?
Always read ingredient labels and check for allergens such as nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten and soy. Use a thermometer to verify doneness where a recipe gives a target temperature, and follow safe handling for eggs, dairy and cooked fillings.
How do I report an error in a recipe?
Use the contact form and tell us the recipe title, the step or ingredient in question and what you think is wrong. We review every report and update the recipe when a correction is needed.
Can I use your recipes, text or photos elsewhere?
You are welcome to cook, share and link to any recipe for personal use. Please do not republish full recipes, text or images on other sites without written permission. For details, see our Terms of use. For permission requests, write to us through the form.
What happens to the information I send?
The name, email address and message you submit through the contact form are used only to reply to you. You can read more about how we handle data in our Privacy Policy.
Who writes the recipes?
